The first version, without a doubt, has more mature and lasting dialogues. I haven't played Mafia 1 original but after playing it's definitive edition I know that it's original would have been great too. Do not hesitate! I really recommend trying the first version as well. There are significant differences in the story.
Mafia II, but play the original, if you have Steam, it's called Mafia II Classic and on modern Xbox systems it's shown as a 360 game. The DE of that game got messed up. Of course there's the option of original hardware, but that's a bit less attainable. r/MafiaTheGame.
I replayed the original quite a few times over the years with it most recently being in Sep 2022. original Mafia (2002) is still my #1 game experience straight up. Mafia: DE (2020) would be my #3 spot behind Mafia II (2010).
You can see the mafia exe file reduced in size by 450 mb. I saw that exe file was reduced, but I don't think it alone can work as a proof denuvo was completely removed. Exe file changes are very small for regular updates of games. This 400-500 mb changes are only because the denuvo drm nonsense has been added to them.
Games I play nowadays include Red Dead Redemption 2, GTA V, San Andreas and Vice City, NBA 2K20 and Fallout New Vegas. I’ve heard really good things about the Mafia Definitive Edition know that the GTA Trilogy has proved to be a massive disappointment for most. My question is - Mafia II: Definitive Edition worth 10 dollars on sale? I hated mafia 3 due to the terrible story & repetitive mission structure (shame because the soundtrack wad amazing), so I need help deciding if I'll enjoy mafia 2 - Any comments are appreciated, thanks in advance.
The heavy story beats from the original just don't hit at all in the new one. The main character is not presented in a way that would make them likable. In the new one, there's no cohesion between the elements of the scenes. It's like the original execution of the story was very carefully though out, but in the new one there was no director who 1. Mafia Definitive Edition finish on classic mode trophy. So I recently bought a ps4 and the first thing was to rock this game. As I totally loved it I decided to go after every trophy there. When it came to the classic difficulty I had troubles with the race ( that damned race). So I tried it once with a lower difficulty then switched back on
